Outflow Story by Tom and Carol Koch
God has surely shown His presence through the people in our lives. Our son Jim, who is
in the Marines, had been stationed in Iraq for the first seven months of this year.
This was his second tour, which was a more intense and dangerous mission. God's people,
from family to churches, from co-workers to neighbors, have been there for us in prayer
and loving support. Many packages were mailed across the world to Jim, providing him
with his needs, many "wants," and most of all continual prayers to Jesus.
God is really in control, and all things work out for His glory. Even though we know
this, we still can get stressed out.
We are presently worshipping at The Vine Wesleyan Church in Lancaster, NY.
This time we spend gathering together is wonderful because God is the focus of our
worship. Our friends there come alongside us and share in our humanity. We worry and
are anxious; we are overwhelmed and sometimes just forgetful. This church has been
understanding, gracious, compassionate and loving as if Jesus our Savior was present.
Every person has a different characteristic and personality, and God sends the right
person at the exact right time to meet our needs (even just to listen or give a hug).
We know the future will bring a mixed bag of joys and sorrows, but we are not alone in
this journey. Thank God for His love and caring through His people.
