Outflow Story by August and Jen Merker
"Our love to God is measured by our everyday fellowship with others and the love it
displays."
~Andrew Murray
As a young married couple who relocated from Maryland to Western New York, we were
eager to find a church home. Prior to attending The Vine, we visited numerous churches,
none of which seemed to “fit” our personalities, our eagerness to get involved, and,
most importantly, our desire to grow deeper in our Faith. After attending a preview
service in December 2004 and the subsequent services, we realized that we had found
our church home at The Vine.
While our bond with Christ continues to grow, so does our involvement in various
ministries at The Vine. For us, the relationships we have formed through Small Groups,
kids’ church, and youth ministries are invaluable. No matter where we gather -- whether
it’s around the kitchen table, in a family room during hockey playoffs, in a school
cafeteria for youth activities, or in a school auditorium for Sunday services -- we have
truly found the perfect “fit.” These and the many other opportunities for fellowship at
The Vine, serve as constant reminders that God knows the deepest desires of our hearts.
